The automotive market, and more specifically the used car market, constitutes a key element of the automotive distribution sector.
For the first time in history in France, the used car market surpassed 6 million units. In 2021, more than three times more used cars were sold than new cars!

While the bodywork sector entered a recession, the market for used parts is growing. In 2017, recycled parts accounted for 2.7% of replaced accessories. This rate jumped to over 3% in 2021. This increase reaches higher proportions depending on the age of the cars. For example, SRA data shows that around 20% of parts used to repair vehicles aged 15 years and over are recycled.

Looking again at the SRA figures, the parts most in demand are:
Front wings, front doors, rear doors, tailgate, bonnets.

Reused parts are a hub of the circular economy and the fight against global warming. According to several automotive players, combining used and new parts reduces water and energy consumption by 80%.

In addition, the amount of chemicals generated is considerably reduced. Used car parts contribute to the protection of the environment and the rational use of natural resources.
These arguments lead insurance companies to offer their clients the possibility of buying second-hand spare parts.
